How I became a car dealer
From an early age I always loved cars, so my first job was valeting cars at a local garage until I was 17 and could drive. For the next three years I drove all around the UK picking up and dropping off cars for car showrooms and garages.
At the age of 20 I decided it was time to “Become A Car Dealer”. I had been working with people in the trade, and learned a great deal from them, and I was sure I could become a successful car dealer. And I have.
You may think that you need thousands of pounds to become a car dealer. When I started, I literally had nothing, but I approached my bank and applied for a £1,000 overdraft and worked with that to build up my funds.
You don’t even need to have £1000 to get started though, I’ve bought cars and vans for as little as £200, and still turned a great profit.

Where to buy a used car:
There are many ways to buy cars at trade prices: Main dealerships part exchanges, Company cars, leasing companies, Car auctions, General public, on-line trade websites , even friends.
How much to pay for a used car:
Like any business, it is the purchase price of your stock that determines the size of your profit. The same applies when buying used cars.
I will show you the strategies I use for estimating a trade price. Clearly, the car’s condition, mileage, number of owners and service history is the basis for working out a price. There are also some great resources available: some to the public, some are restricted to traders. I will give you the inside track.
How to prepare a car for re-sale:
Some cars just need a good clean! Others need anything from touching up paint chips to fixing body work or even mechanical vaults. I will show you what to look for and how to solve any problems at the best price.
How to sell:
The best way to earn BIG profits is to retail the cars to the general public. There are many ways to achieve this: newspaper ads; online and car auctions.
You may not think that reselling back into the trade would be very profitable, but it is a great way to earn fast easy money. Over the years, I have often earned over £3000 just by buying a car from one garage, driving it 10-20 miles and selling it to another garage. Not bad for a few hours’ work!
There are also many other ways to sell cars, and I will show you how.
The trade secrets:
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a network of traders covering the whole of the UK? There is, but access is strictly limited to traders who can prove they have been a car dealer for at least 6 months.
Find any make and any model, anywhere at trade prices. It saves time and it saves huge amounts of money.
